Veteran Trainers

You will be trained by some of the best in the business!  Our veteran trainers have extensive backgrounds in personal training and nutrition.  They LOVE what they do and they bring that passion to work every day.

Grant

Grant brings over 17 yrs. of training experience to Helioss.  He has carried a passion for fitness with him since he was a teenager.  He is fascinated by the body's ability to change in order to adapt to new requirements.  He designed Helioss to be a state- of- the art Personal Training facility.  Grant hand selected each piece of equipment with the goal of providing the best quality strength-training and functional workouts available anywhere.   When Grant's not training, he's spending time outdoors with his son, Lucas, and his wife, Jennifer.  His hobbies include crafting new workouts, fishing, hunting, welding, woodwork, playing guitar, art and leather working.

Dillon

Believing that our bodies have far more potential than we typically give ourselves credit for,Dillon’s goal is to show people that they are far more capable than they ever imagined. Aftersuffering a severe injury playing football, Dillon developed a passion for working with athletesto uncover their full potential as well as helping people rediscover their strength in the wake ofunforeseen injuries. Dillon Graduated with a degree in Sports Conditioning from Texas A&MUniversity and has devoted his life to continually learning how to make the human bodyperform at the highest level possible. When not in the gym, look for Dillon either on the side ofa mountain, halfway up a rock wall, in a duck blind, or anywhere else that adventure might becalling.

Billy

Billy is a College Station native and a proud A&M Consolidated graduate.  He joined the Army after graduation and served 20 years of active duty combined with the National Guard.  He's no stranger to service and hard work and he credits the Army with shaping him as a person and now as a trainer.  He served clients at Golds Gym for 3 years and was a fitness instructor for 8 years.  Fitness played an integral role in Army life and his passion is motivating people to embrace fitness as an everyday part of their lives.  He uses a direct approach along with realistic goal setting to help his clients achieve results. 

Credentials: NASM, CPT, CPR/AED, Golds Certs: FIT, Burn, Bootcamp, Body Combat, Heart Rate Performance Specialist

Nick

Nick brings over 35 yrs of personal training experience to Helioss!   His fitness journey began with strength training for hockey in his homeland of Canada!  He then transitioned into more than 2 decades of powerlifting and strongman competitions.  If you love to lift heavy, he's your guy!  He's also recently become addicted to high intensity interval and endurance training on his Peloton bike.  When he's not in the studio with clients, he loves to relax at home with his wife Sonya, their 4 ill-behaved dogs and 2 curious cats.

Vern

Vern is a "Veteran Trainer" and accomplished former athlete who has a vast amount of wisdom to share with clients looking to achieve success.  His track record speaks for itself!He served as a Sports Performance Coach previously at:

- Texas A&M
- LSU
- University of Colorado
- Stanford University
- University of Wyoming

....add to that 2 seasons as the head strength coach of the NFL's Denver Broncos!

He knows how to coach for success and takes pleasure when clients surpass their goals!  Outside the gym, Vern enjoys traveling with his wife, Mary and visiting their son, VJ and daughter, Halle.  His hobbies are gardening, biking and darts.  Vern is a four-time American Drug Free Powerlifting Association State Champion, winning titles in Wyoming (1987), California (1989, 1990) and in Texas (2000) and  he is a proud 1981 graduate of Texas A&M.

Credentials:  C.S.C.C Master certified strength coach, USA Weightlifting Level 2

Dr. Greg Propst

Dr. Greg Propst is our resident, in-house Physical Therapist.  He is a Native Texan, raised in McAllen, TX and he is an expert on all things "injury" related! Greg is the quintessential professional and one of the best listeners and problem solvers in the business. 
Greg has spent time in outpatient, in patient and home health settings.  He works with all manner of clients, from athletes to senior care patients.   He works directly with our training staff so you have a seamless transition from Physical Therapy to Personal training which ensures continuity of care and puts you on a more successful long-term recovery path.  Greg is an Aggie through and through and always goes the extra mile.  When he's not with clients, Greg spends time with his equally talented "Physical Therapist" wife, Lindsey and their 3 vibrant little girls.B.S. in Biomedical Sciences- A&M-2007M.S. in Exercise Physiology- A&M-2009Doctorate of Physical Therapy-Texas State University-2012.
